PLEASE READ THIS DOCUMENT BEFORE YOU PROCEED TO UPGRADE POCKET LOOX IMAGE

1.  This document contains information for upgrading the image of Pocket LOOX. The new ROM image is for
the models sold by Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific only.

The supported upgrade path is:
English version:
	USAA0043 to USAA0066 or USAA0053 to USAA0066

Simplified Chinese version:
	CHS0053 to CHS0066

Traditional Chinese version:
	CHT0053 to CHT0066

2.  How do I check my Pocket LOOX ROM image?

	a. Turn on the Pocket LOOX.
	b. Go to Start > Settings > System > Asset Viewer > Version.

	   For example, the Revision level: V1.1L10-USAA0043 or V1.1L10-USAA0053

	c. If your Pocket LOOX ROM image is not one of the above, do not proceed
	   further to upgrade your Pocket LOOX ROM image.


3.  The following documents are also available for download.

      Simplified/Traditional Chinese version:
	- CHS0066.ZIP/CHT0066.ZIP
	- CHS.ZIP/CHT.ZIP

	
4.  The document USAA0066.ZIP/CHS0066.ZIP/CHT0066.ZIP contains the user flashing tool files, the new
ROM image, disclaimer.txt and changes.txt.  Please read the disclaimer.txt.
The lastest user flashing tool for upgrade Pocket LOOX image is version 1.04.
	

5.  The ENG.ZIP/CHS.ZIP/CHT.ZIP contains the following documents

	BACKUP.PDF (Rev 1.0 April 2003)
	- contains the instructions to backup data on Pocket LOOX to PC before
	  ROM upgrade. Do not use MS ActiveSync Backup to backup your data.
	  Do not use LX-Backup to backup your data.

	RESTORE.PDF (Rev 1.0 April 2003)
	- contains the instructions to restore backup data from PC to Pocket LOOX
	  after ROM upgrade.

	RESTORE_APPLICATION.PDF (Rev 1.0 April 2003)
	- contains the instructions to re-install user installed applications on
	  Pocket LOOX after ROM upgrade.

	ROMupgrade.PDF (Rev 1.0 April 2003)
	- contains the instructions to use the user flashing tool to upgrade
	  Pocket LOOX image.


6.   Remember to backup your data on the Pocket LOOX before you upgrade your
Pocket LOOX ROM image. All data on the Pocket LOOX will be erased after the
Pocket LOOX is upgraded to the new ROM image. Follow the instructions in the
document BACKUP.PDF to backup the data on your Pocket LOOX. 


7.   It is recommended that user do not use Microsoft ActiveSync Backup/Restore
functions to backup/restore data on the Pocket LOOX. If user chooses to do so,
there will be unwanted previous version registry settings on the Pocket LOOX
after restoring the data from a backup of an old version ROM Pocket LOOX.
Some registry settings from the previous ROM may also overwrite the registry
settings on the new ROM. This may make the Pocket LOOX with the new ROM image
unstable.


8.   DO not use LX-Backup to backup data on the Pocket LOOX.  This utility will
only backup data and restore data on Pocket LOOX with the same ROM image
version.


9.   The history of Pocket LOOX improvements and bug fixes are contained in
the file changes.txt.
