Could
you tell me how to uninstall the Security Panel Application
in the LifeBook S-4572?
A1
If you want to uninstall
the security panel application, first you must remove all the
user and supervisor passwords. From the Control Panel, select
Add/Remove Programs. From the list select "Security Panel
Application" and then select Remove Program. After that,
select "Security Panel Application for Supervisor"
and select Remove Program.
You may also refer to the user guide from our website for the
security panel application setup. Our website URL is as follows:

Under Service & Support, select User Guide for LifeBook.
I
tried to install an IBM ThinkPAD T21 hard disk to my Fujitsu
LifeBook S-4562. Windows 2000 Professional OS does not boot
up. Is it compatible?
A2
If you just transfer
the HDD from another system, it will not boot-up because the
boot-up sequence will be different. Use Windows 2000 to do a
safe recovery or install again.
I
wish to upgrade the Windows 98SE on my LifeBook S-4542 to Windows
ME but cannot find the driver on your driver download webpage.
Can you please advise the following:
Will the S-4542 operate satisfactorily with Windows
ME?
Where can I obtain the drivers for the peripherals
that were shipped with the machine (e.g. LAN card, modem,
etc)?
What on-board LAN driver should be used with Windows
98SE and the S-4542? Windows 98SE recognizes the chipset
as 8255x Intel Adapter but this conflicts with the driver
specified on your webpage (Fujitsu FMV-J185 and not Intel
8255x)?
A3
This model works fine with Windows ME and the default
Windows ME drivers used. No additional driver is needed
except for one 'Unknown Device', which needs to have the
driver installed. The driver can be downloaded from the
following web site: http://www.pc-ap.fujitsu.com/drivers/others/lb_uty_ops/acpi/w2kme98/acpi.exe
All the drivers can be found in the Software Driver CD.
The drivers on the web correspond with the name of the
LAN card. Actually, the LAN card installed in your laptop
is an Intel LAN card.
Why
do the scroll mouse buttons and infrared port not work after
upgrading my LifeBook S-4546 OS to Windows XP Home Edition?
A4
This model works fine
with Windows XP. Once you have received the mouse driver from
our Service & Support, please update the mouse driver. As
for the infrared port , no drivers are needed. The OS will detect
it automatically. In the 'Control Panel', double clicking on
'Wireless Link' will show you the infrared properties. http://www.pc-ap.fujitsu.com/drivers/lbs5582/mouse/win_xp/fe_xpmouse.exe
I
recently formatted my LifeBook S-4562 since there were some
files missing and that resulted in my not being able to log
into Windows. The error message states that the system cannot
detect the modem and LAN.
A6
After you have recovered
the OS, you have to re-install all the drivers and utility software
using the Software Driver CD. For the modem, please run setup
to install the modem. The LAN driver can be found from our web
or the drivers CD. Please verify and re-install the correct
driver.
Upon
re-installing Windows ME OS (with the Recovery CD) on my LifeBook
S-4562, the sound card is no longer functioning. Please advise.
A7
After you have performed
the necessary recovery process for your OS, you have to re-install
all the drivers and utility software using the Software Driver
CD. The installation guide can be found in the Software Driver
CD. Please insert your Software Driver CD and it will auto-run.
Select Installation Guide and your LifeBook model.
I
recently installed Windows 2000 for my LifeBook S-4562. However,
when I adjust the volume using the fn + F8/F9 button, the indicator
does not appear on screen though the volume does increase/decrease.
How do I make the indicator visible?
A8
After you have upgraded
to Windows 2000, please install the utility application 'Battery
Aid'. This utility can be found inside the Software Driver CD.
