I
am reinstalling Windows 98/ ME on my LifeBook E-6595 and I have
an unknown device listed?
A1
The ACPI device in some
of the LifeBook E-6595 series is not automatically found. If
you have installed all devices such as Modem, Audio and Video
Controller, it is probably the ACPI device that is the unknown
device listed. The ACPI device driver is available in the Drivers
and Utilities CD supplied.
Is
the RAM upgrade still available for the LifeBook E-6530? What
is the maximum RAM capacity that I can upgrade to and how much
does it cost to upgrade? How long will the RAM be available?
A2
The RAM upgrade for
your E-6530 is still available. Currently your laptop's memory
is 64MB. It can be upgraded up to a maximum 512MB. Since your
E-6530 has two slots, you may purchase 2 pieces of 256MB RAM
to upgrade to the maximum capacity. Please check with the service
centre for details on RAM purchase.
Is
the CD/R/RW drive supported by the portable bay in LifeBook
E-6530? Could I get a copy of the drivers?
A3
Unfortunately for E6530,
the device bay does not support the CD-R/RW drive option. The
bay only supports a 2nd battery based on your machine's specification.
Which
specific hardware in my LifeBook E-6530 cannot be supported
by Windows XP? Also, why is Windows XP not compatible with the
ACPI?
A5
Most of the drivers can
be supported by Windows XP except ACPI, but this driver can
be downloaded from our website. This model is supported by Windows
XP.
After
upgrading the memory on My LifeBook E-6626 to 512MB (2 X 256MB),
the notebook has became unstable. Do I need to set-up anything
or upgrade the BIOS?
A6
The memory upgrade will
not cause any problem. However, the RAM chip must be compatible
with the built-in or existing RAM chip. If you buy the RAM chip
from a Fujitsu dealer, please ensure that it is PC-133 compliant.
Furthermore, try to recall if you have installed any new program
or device recently, as this could also be the cause.
