have Windows NT on My LifeBook E-65xx series and my modem doesn't
work.

Please checks the following.
On the BIOS Advanced Menu; by default "Plug and Play OS" option
is set to "Yes", please change setting to "No" , save changes
and restart your system.
In control Panel, launch Modem and remove any Modems

In Control Panel, launch Ports and remove any Ports listed
Restart Windows NT
Launch Windows Explorer, selects D:/LBExxx/Modem/Winnt/
and run the Setup.exe. This will run the modem installation
program.
The method of Installation
is the same for all versions of Windows. There are no additional
drivers required for the Infrared mouse, standard Windows mouse
driver supports Infrared mouse.
Insert two AAA Batteries (not supplied) into the mouse.
Enable Infrared mouse in BIOS from Advanced Keyboard/Mouse
Features Infrared Mouse [enabled] **
To use the Touchpad at the same time change Internal Pointing
device to [Always Enabled] **
Underneath the mouse there is a switch, set this to either
L (Low power/ Short range ) or H (High Power/Long Range).
