Can
I install Microsoft Windows2000 Server or Microsoft NT Server
4.0 into Fujitsu LifeBook (LifeBook C series, C-6581)?
A1
The LifeBook C-6581 is
not designed for WinNT. As Win NT is not a Plug and Play OS,
it does not support most of the devices, such as USB, Infrared
and Power Management. The LifeBook is designed for Windows 98SE,
ME and Windows 2000 Professional. If you plan to install a Windows
2000 server, it should not be a problem. All the Windows 2000
drivers are pre-loaded in the software.
Is
there a Recovery disk for the LifeBook C-6140? I wish to reset
the system to factory settings as the display has become blurred
and enlarged after I installed and un-installed various programs.
A2
Unfortunately, this model
does not come with any Recovery disk. Instead it is bundled
with a generic Windows 98 CD and Software Driver CD. You can
use the Windows 98 CD to re-install the OS and after that install
the drivers for C-6140 using the Software Driver CD.
My
LifeBook C-6592 which is preloaded with Traditional Chinese
Windows ME hangs each time it is switched on from 'Sleep' mode.
When I press the Control/Alternate/Delete buttons the system
indicates that 'Msgrv32 has failed to respond' and the system
hangs.
Is it possible for the LifeBook C-6592 to operate on Chinese
Windows 2000 or even Windows XP? Does Fujitsu provide another
Recovery disk for Windows 2000?
A3
Regarding the Windows
ME problem, it could be due to some applications preventing
the system from starting up from 'Sleep' mode. For example:
are there any Anti-virus program installed in your system and
which version is it?
This model comes with the Windows ME Recovery disk and we
can't provide you the Windows 2000 Recovery CD because of
license issues. You may use the retail version of Windows
2000 or Windows XP to install. All the drivers can be found
from the Drivers CD.
