I
wish to reinstall Windows 98/ ME on my LifeBook C-65xx. However
I have an unknown device listed?
A1
The ACPI device in some
of the LifeBook C-65xx series is not automatically found. If
you have installed all devices such as Modem, Audio and Video
Controller, it is probably the ACPI device that is the unknown
device listed. The ACPI device driver is available in the Drivers
and Utilities CD supplied.
After
re-formatting the system with the recovery disk, there was no
audio enabled. In the System icon in the control panel, 2 question
marks appeared next to the PCI multimedia device.
A3
After recovery, all the
drivers need to be installed. From the Device Manager, select
PCI Multimedia, then select Update Driver, and then the Software
Driver CD in the folder LBC6571\Audio\WinMe\, and follow the
on-screen step-by-step instructions. For the other two unknown
device drivers, do the same thing and select Update in the folder:
\LifeBook_Options\ACPI\ WinMEw2k.
When
uninstalling the driver for my Microsoft Intellimouse on the
Fujitsu LifeBook C-6571 the Touchpad Icon was missing and the
CoolScroll function could not be used. Have I accidentally uninstalled
the necessary programs required to run these?
A4
Installing the MS Intellimouse
Driver will over-write the Touchpad Driver, which then needs
to be re-installed to use the CoolScroll function. To do this,
update the mouse driver - Click Start, select Settings, select
Control Panel, select System, Device Manager, and Mouse. Expand
the plus sign to select Update Driver and point to the folder
in which the mouse driver is located.
The
sound card of my LifeBook C series (purchased in Singapore)
is not working. The US Service & Support here advised downloading
the Yamaha AG-XG PCI Audio Device Driver, otherwise to reformat
the machine. After re-formatting and installing, however, it
still does not work.
A6
Download the Audio driver
from our website, http://www.pc-ap.fujitsu.com.
It is a Yamaha AG-XG PCI Audio Device Driver. After you have
downloaded the files, extract the files into a folder and install
the Audio. In Control Panel, Device Manager, select the Unknown
Device Driver with the yellow mark, under PCI Multimedia. Then
select Update Driver and follow the instructions on screen to
install the Audio Driver. You should have the Software Driver
CD that is bundled with the package.
How
may I update the driver for my floppy drive as my system is
unable to enter 'Standby' mode? The corporate website does not
have the driver for the LifeBook C-6140 using Windows 2000.
A7
There is no driver available
for the floppy disk drive. Possibly, other applications are
causing this problem. Please try to remove some of the programs
from the start-up and try again. If there is any anti-virus
software installed in your system, kindly disable it first before
trying again.
What
is the setup sequence for DVD, infrared mouse and camera for
the LifeBook C-6572.
A8
Please refer to the
setup guide in your Software Driver CD. For the infrared mouse,
no driver is needed, just enable the infrared mouse from the
BIOS under 'Mouse and Keyboard Features'. For the DVD, just
re-install the DVD player driver which comes with another CD.
If you are referring to the Fujitsu USB camera, its driver can
be found in the Software Driver CD that is bundled with the
system, under 'LifeBook Options'.
How
can I install the PCI multimedia audio device on my LifeBook
C-6581? The system was unable to find the software/hardware
and there is no sound.
A9
Please install the Audio
driver using the Composite Driver CD provided. The installation
guide can be viewed from the CD. Once you load the CD into the
CD-ROM driver, it will run automatically. Select 'Installation
Guide' from the Control Panel 'Device Manager', and select 'PCI
Multimedia' and 'Update Driver'. From the list, select and point
to the folder where the Audio driver is located. E.g.: 'lbc6571_81\Audio\W98ME2K\'
I
am unable to use the CoolScroll button feature on My LifeBook
C-6592. Please recommend any possible solutions.
A10
Please check if the
Mouse driver is installed properly. The Mouse driver should
be 'Alps Glide Point'. Under 'Device Manager', if it is stated
'Standard PS/S Mouse', please update your Mouse driver using
the Software Driver CD\ LBC-6592 \Mouse\WinMe\Apoint.inf.
Which
DVD driver should I use for my LifeBook C-6611?
A12
No driver is needed
for the DVD driver as the OS will automatically detect the drive.
You can use the driver for LifeBook C-6571/81 as it uses the
same hardware.
I've
recently reformatted my LifeBook C-6611, but I cannot find the
sound drivers anywhere in the software drivers composite CD
nor on this site.
A13
LifeBook C-6611 uses
the same drivers as LifeBook C-6571-81. You may install the
driver from the Composite/Driver CD, using the directory in
C-6571-81.
