Security Password, Security
Buttons

function for system boot up and extra hardware security.
The four numeric programmable application launch buttons

While
booting up my LifeBook B-2130, the system indicated that the
'WOL558.vxd' file is missing. There has been some problem with
the LAN setting when I downloaded the 'Fujitsu FMV-J185 LAN
Driver for Win9x NT4.00' from the Fujitsu site. I was unable
to install the downloaded 'nic.exe' file. How should I proceed?
Furthermore, my notebook, which runs on Windows 98, hangs completely
when I plug in a PCMCIA CD-ROM driver and boot up the system.
How do I resolve this?
A3
The problem could have
arisen when you removed some applications, which were using
the same file name. Please check your registry file:
Click 'Start' select 'Run', type in 'regedit'.
The 'Registry Editor' will pop-up on the screen.
Select 'Edit' and then select 'Find'.
In the 'Find' dialog, type in 'wol558.vxd' and click on
the 'Find' button.
The 'Registry Editor' will search for this file. If you
can find this file, just delete this line and exit from
this menu.
Finally, restart your system.
As for the PCMCIA CD-ROM, please state the kind of PCMCIA
CD-ROM drive that is being used. Have you re-installed your
OS recently? Make sure the PCMCIA chipset driver is installed
properly.
Where
I can find the signature recognition software for LifeBook B-2548?
A4
There is no signature
recognition software for the B series touch screen. What you
see on the B series catalogue with an inverted document and
a hand signature on the touchscreen simply means that you may
use the touch screen pen to scribble words or signatures on
an inverted "MS Paint" accessories program
activated by using the rotation screen utility preloaded into
the B series LifeBook notebooks. The rotation utility 360-degree
rotation for all displays shown on screen.
