full functionality in form factors that weigh less than
2kg
Singapore, 10 March 2004
- Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific today released the latest two
notebooks in their award-winning S series - the LifeBook
S6210 and LifeBook S2020. Both models offer corporate,
SOHO executives and students a high performance, wireless-capable
notebook with a polished and slim form factor.
The LifeBook S6210 uses a carbon fibre ABS base chassis,
thin and lightweight LCD panel and magnesium alloy LCD
back cover to reduce about 100g from the previous model.
The S6210 weighs approximately 1.65kg with a weight saver
option or 1.85kg with the standard DVD/CD-RW Combo drive.
Powered by Intel® Centrino Mobile Technology,
the LifeBook S6210 offers Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200BG
network connectivity (compatible with 802.11b and 802.11g
wireless standards) that improves network access speed
and delivers an enhanced mobile computing experience.
This connectivity is further enhanced with a dual antenna
for optimal wireless reception. For corporate users, the
LifeBook S6210 also comes with 802.11a support.
With an impressive 13.3" XGA display and a hot-swappable
DVD/CD-RW Combo drive, users can enjoy a comfortable display
with the ability to hot-swap to other bay options such
as a weight saver or bay battery. In addition, the LifeBook
S6210 offers a DVD±RW drive bay option, which allows
rich multimedia playback of most DVD formats.
The notebook provides a wide array of connectivity options
with three USB 2.0 ports and when executives choose to
use the standard and optional battery bay, the S6210 has
an extended battery life of up to eight hours.
Raymond Foo, Associate Director, Marketing, Fujitsu PC
Asia Pacific said, "Our LifeBook S series is renown
for its powerful functionality in a lightweight form factor.
The S6210 and S2020 are ideal business tools for corporate
and SOHO executives looking for a wireless notebook that
weighs less than 2kg."
"We also expect strong interest from the education
sector. The sleek designs and smooth edges combined with
an improved keyboard with dedicated PageUp, PageDown and
inverted-T cursor keys will make typing essays and designing
class multimedia presentations much easier for students,"
Mr Foo said.
Fujitsu's other enhanced notebook in the S series is the
LifeBook S2020. This notebook offers excellent value and
performance on a thin and light machine.
Weighing less than two kilograms, the LifeBook S2020 offers
a crisp 13.3" XGA display and comes with a hot-swappable
DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive that makes it ideal for movie-viewing
and rich multimedia playback.
Powered by an AMD Athlon XP-M 2100+1
(Low Voltage), QuantiSpeed architecture with 3DNow!
Professional and AMD PowerNow! Technology, the LifeBook
S2020 effectively increases notebook battery life while
delivering performance on demand.
Supporting 802.11b/g wireless connectivity, the LifeBook
S2020 also comes with dual antenna to improve reception
and increase network access speed.
The LifeBook S2020 offers excellent value with a well-balanced
ratio of component cost, sleek design and performance.
