Up to six hours battery
life unplugs the modern executive and allows
them to excel anywhere, anytime
Singapore, 12 November 2003
The LifeBook B5010 offers
professionals the best of both worlds - a powerful,
wireless-enabled laptop that weighs just 1.4kg
(or even as light as 1.25kg with an optional
3-cell battery).
Taking advantage of the latest Intel® CentrinoT
Mobile Technology ultra low voltage processor,
the LifeBook B5010 offers high performance computing
and seamless wireless connectivity without compromising
on battery life. A built-in dual antenna provides
optimal wireless performance, and the wireless
LAN switch allows users to disable function
when not in use to conserve power.
Raymond Foo, Associate Director, Marketing,
Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific says that modern executives
asked Fujitsu for a powerful yet lightweight
notebook. "The LifeBook B5010 provides unparalleled
computing power and wireless connectivity without
a heavyweight battery pack."
"The B5010 performs up to 12 hours with an additional
six-cell battery and still weighs less than
1.75kg. It is safe to say that this is the first
laptop to really deliver on portability," Mr
Foo says.
With such a stylish form factor, the LifeBook
B5010 needs an effective multi-layered security
feature. The B5010 comes with BIOS lock, hard
disk lock, LifeBook lock and anti-theft lock
slot for data and hardware protection. Smart
Card support also provides flexibility in expanding
security functions to the corporate users.
The LifeBook B5010 enhances connectivity with
four USB 2.0 ports (two on the B5010 and two
on the port replicator), PC Card slot and CF
card slot. The port replicator allows users
to connect to all peripherals (external display,
audio system, user interface devices such as
mouse and desktop keyboard) and frees them from
the hassle of frequently connecting and disconnecting
cables.
The sound and visual display of the LifeBook
B5010 utilises an impressive 12.1" XGA TFT display
at 1024 x 768 pixels resolution backed by stereo
speakers and the Sound Effect Manager Utility
to create various audio profiles and configure
sound effects.
Fujitsu PC has also been one of the first to
address customer requests for a more ergonomically-designed
notebook by raising the foot-base of the B5010
slightly so that the keyboard is comfortably
tilted closer to the user.
"We are constantly looking for new ways to improve
our range of laptops. Small changes can make
a big difference and one of those is in the
foot-base of the LifeBook B5010. With many professionals
spending considerable amounts of time in front
of their computers, we found that just a couple
of degrees difference in the angle of the keyboard
can improve their overall user experience,"
Mr Foo concluded.
