Intel's Hyper Threading
technology boosts DESKPOWER E600's performance
by 25 percent
Singapore, 04 June 2003
The DESKPOWER E600 offers business
customers a sleek, high performance desktop
PC incorporating Intel's latest 865G chipset
that can support new technologies like Hyper
Threading, Serial ATA and Dual Channel Memory.
Hyper Threading enables one processor to act
like two allowing the PC to tackle multiple
applications simultaneously, putting idle CPU
resources to use and boosting PC performance
by 25%. Being able to support new technologies
enable a longer product life cycle, thus maximizing
return on IT investment.
Raymond Foo, Associate Director, Marketing,
Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific says Fujitsu is leading
the industry in delivering the latest technology
for desktop PCs in a smaller, towerable form
factor. "Our customers have asked us for a powerful
desktop PC that doesn't fill the entire desktop,"
Mr Foo said.
"The DESKPOWER E600 is a towerable model that
retains the easy serviceability features like
tool-less access (no screws), flexible slots
and an easy fix AGP slot which makes it a great
companion for the home office."
"We have enhanced the security features including
a chassis lock on the CPU (found on the front
of the system), included Norman Virus Control
and Norman Personal Firewall software as standard
and installed an eyelet for a Kensington lock
to protect against hardware and software loss,"
he said.
"Data transfer across the network will be faster
with the Intel 1000 Base TX- Gigabit Ethernet
interface which is downward compatible with
the 10/100 Base TX."
"The DESKPOWER E600 is also WiFi-capable with
a wireless LAN card in the PCI slot," Mr Foo
said.
