Fujitsu Unveils Innovative
and Powerful Business Computing Solutions
Singapore, November 6, 2002 Fujitsu
has created a range of exciting computing products for todays
information-critical businesses, including the first of its line
of Tablet PCs to run on the new Microsoft® Windows® XP Tablet
PC operating system, the Stylistic ST4110. Recognising that companies
today require high quality, reliable computers built using the latest
technologies, Fujitsu unveiled the LifeBook S6110 , C2210 , P1120
, E7010, P2210, and B2620 alongside the Stylistic ST4110 at the
latest hotspot in town, Embassy @ Esplanade.
Get Connected with Fujitsu
Fujitsu chose to launch its new, made in Japan LifeBook models,
which feature faster processors, enhanced storage, multimedia and
optical drive capabilities, at Embassy to showcase true wireless
mobility. The LifeBook E7010, S6010, C2210, P1120 and the Stylistic
ST4110 feature built-in Wireless LAN capability that provide hassle-free
connectivity to all compatible wireless local and wide area networks.
Mr Alex Leung, COO, Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific said: According
to IDCs Singapore PC Market Overview 2002, corporations purchased
more portable computers than desktops in the past year. In fact,
we have seen this trend building up gradually over recent years.
The key here is the freedom and mobility offered by mobile computers,
whatever the form factor, be it notebooks, PDAs, or Tablet PCs.
The next logical step is therefore, wireless access, which will
offer unprecedented mobility for the business user, creating new
efficiencies and a whole new way of doing business.
The beauty of wireless access lies in the ability to download email,
share files, conduct peer-to-peer functionality and log on to the
Internet to research potential client companies anytime, anywhere.
With Wi-Fi compliant wireless capability built into the LifeBook,
users are no longer tied to a physical location. Instead, companies
and employees are connected to a virtual office that could potentially
span the globe. Access important documents from overseas offices,
conduct due diligence through real-time linkages to global information
systems and send time-sensitive data from Singapore to any location
around the world. The LifeBook helps users keep track of the flows
of information and conduct their business efficiently and smoothly,
offering the true wireless mobility that companies require.
Mr Leung explained: The fast-paced global nature of businesses
today means that most companies operate not just in the local or
regional market, but globally as well. Wireless mobility gives companies
an edge over their competitors in responding and adjusting to the
rapidly changing global business conditions.
Faster, Stronger, Better
The new LifeBook notebooks run on the latest Intel and Transmeta
processors for added speed and performance. The LifeBook P2120,
which is designed to be a personal entertainment companion, has
an integrated DVD/CD-R/RW Combo Drive and is powered by a 933MHz
Transmeta Crusoe processor that ensures optimum performance.
The chip uses less power, resulting in longer battery life for extended
DVD viewing periods. The LifeBook E7010, on the other hand, is designed
for the heavy mobile corporate user and is powered by the latest
Mobile Intel® Pentium® 4 2.2GHz processor, while the LifeBook
B2620 runs on the Ultra Low Voltage Mobile Intel® Pentium®
III processor, both of which offer efficient power consumption and
low heat generation for mobile applications.
Multiple Options for Greater Functionality
A Fujitsu port replicator is also bundled with various models like
the LifeBook E7010, S6110 and B2620 for improved cable management
and uncluttered access to desktop resources including scanners and
printers. This enables users to quickly set up a mobile office around
the LifeBook as the need arises for printing and scanning tasks.
The modular bay built into the LifeBook E7010 and S6110 is also
able to contain an additional hard disk for added storage, or a
Weight Saver to optimise the notebooks portability. Users
will also find a standard security feature consisting of a panel
with four numeric buttons on most of the LifeBook models, which
offer more than 800,000 possible password combinations, ensuring
that confidential business information is kept securely within the
notebook.
In addition, slot in a Bluetooth PC card into any LifeBook
and gain the ability to talk to nearby Bluetooth enabled
devices. Busy professionals can synchronize PDAs, exchange data
and share resources quickly on-the-fly without having to manage
the usual collection of connection cables and wires.
High Performance and Brilliant Graphics for Business Presentations:
LifeBook E7010
The LifeBook E7010 uses the ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 graphics processor
with AGP support and discrete 32MB Video RAM which offers excellent
performance of DVD playback. Users will experience workstation-class
graphics with improved 3D detail, no feathering, no twitter, and
good vertical resolution for one of the most efficient DVD playback
processes available currently. A higher level of power management
integration is also built into the chip which optimises power consumption,
resulting in longer battery life, assuring users of consistent performance
even during multiple client meetings.
Imparting a Personal Touch to Business: LifeBook B2620
Fujitsu was one of the first computer companies to offer increased
product usability by creating a touch screen panel notebook. The
LifeBook B2620 facilitates business processes by allowing users
to create, amend, sign and authenticate documents instantaneously
through the use of appropriate software. The LifeBook is also ideal
for presentations where two or more persons may need to view the
screen at the same time by simply opening up the notebook and laying
it flat on a 180° horizontal plane. The LifeBook B2620 has been
used by the insurance and financial industry professionals for the
signing and authentication of contracts and agreements on the spot.
Mobile Entertainment Companion: LifeBook P2120
With a Combo Drive and integrated ports including FireWire, SPDIF,
Video Out and USB2.0, the LifeBook P2120 is ideal for playing music
CDs and viewing movies. Its small, lightweight form factor also
makes the LifeBook a highly mobile presentation tool for seminars,
workshops, talks and other events, with the ability to connect to
a variety of external devices like plasma displays and video projectors.
