Singapore, February 5, 2002 -
Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific is proud to announce the availability
of touch screen notebooks that support biometric signature
technology.
This
technology enables users to electronically 'sign' documents,
hence offering virtually tamper-proof security. Once applied,
the biometric handwritten signature will render any document
unalterable. The contents cannot be changed; neither can
the signature be moved, copied or pasted in any way. This
process is the most reliable and efficient way to approve
and process documents electronically.
At present, Fujitsu is the first notebook
vendor that is able to support this technology, thanks to
its state-of-the-art touch screen LifeBook B series notebook.
Fujitsu has targeted mobile professionals such as insurance
agents and sales executives as the likely market for this
product. The LifeBook B series, an ultra-portable, 1.3"
thin notebook, has always been the preferred model of choice
of such mobile professionals.
E-com, the Asia Pacific distributor of the
biometric signature software, is impressed with the LifeBook
B series' capability in supporting e-signatures for e-paper
solutions. E-com firmly believes that e-paper is the document
workflow management and contract execution technology of
tomorrow.
"We have brought in the latest
Handwritten Biometric Signature technology that has been
specially developed for the Asia e-signature industry. The
incorporation of this software with the latest touch screen
technology on a notebook is another first for E-Com and
Fujitsu in the Asia Pacific region," said Michael Ryan,
General Manager for E-Com. www.ecomaus.com
