--- Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific Pte Ltd today announced that
it will enter into the growing PDA (Personal Digital Assistants)
market in calendar year 2002, quarter 1. The modular-designed
handheld will come installed with Microsoft® Pocket
PC 2002 Software and will be marketed globally. Customers
can expect the new product to hit the shelves of Japan,
North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
This new PDA is optimized to run on Microsoft's
Pocket PC 2002 Software, which excels in a high performance
multi-task environment and contains enhanced multimedia
features. "We're delighted that Fujitsu has chosen
Pocket PC 2002," said Elenor Teng, Marketing Manager
Mobility Group, Asia, Microsoft Corporation. The new software
will also provide high interoperability with existing Windows-based
products.
By integrating the latest mobile technologies
today, Fujitsu is positioning its PDA as a tool of the corporate
IT systems, such as Sales Force Automation, Supply Chain
Management, Groupware, etc. In addition, the PDA also doubles
up as a multimedia entertainment tool for personal users.
The modularity of the hardware caters for a vast selection
of connectivity and extension options.
With the product, Fujitsu will truly be able
to provide a seamless line-up of computing products for
the corporate market including desktops, notebooks and PDAs.
