Singapore May 21, 2001- Fujitsu,
leading manufacturer of computer products, has increased
the value of its entry-level desktop PCs.
The new DESKPOWER 2000 and DESKPOWER 5000 machines are today
empowered with the highest processing power in its class
to meet the unique needs of SOHO and small businesses. Fujitsu
has also made available on these productivity machines,
an array of functions and computing power to suit every
business need.
To cater to all budgets and functionality, Fujitsu is offering
users a choice of processors ranging from the Celeron
766MHz processor to the top-speed Pentium®
III processor. While the DESKPOWER 2000 series' top performing
processor is the 1GHz Intel® Pentium®
III processor, a Celeron 766MHz version is also supported.
The DESKPOWER 2000 also comes with Intel®'s
3D AGP, which optimizes memory and processing power.
Supporting processing speeds of up to 1GHz on the Intel®
Pentium® III processor as well is the Fujitsu
DESKPOWER 5000. To leverage its fast processing speed, DESKPOWER
5000 is outfitted with Intel® 815E chipset
and memory utilization is through the PC-133 architecture
supporting up to a maximum of 512MB.
Fujitsu's entry-level series boast mega-storage options:
Maximum storage on the DESKPOWER 5000 is up to 60GB on an
Ultra DMA/100 drive with S.M.A.R.T support. Meanwhile, the
storage appetite on the DESKPOWER 2000 is up to 40GB.
Besides the hard disk option, DESKPOWER 2000 and 5000 machines
are also complemented with optical drive options. The DESKPOWER
5000 and 2000 support CD-ROM and CD-R/RW drives, the latter
with write, re-write and read speeds of 8x/4x/32x respectively.
In addition to a choice in computing power, users are also
benefiting from the innovative space design. The DESKPOWER
5000 offers flexibility in its design orientation, with
a convertible chassis that allows the system to be installed
either as a low-profile desktop or slim tower model. The
new machine also features Fujitsu's latest in housing design,
allowing easy access to the PC chassis with a mere turn
of a knob, hence making trouble-shooting and system upgrading
a breeze, as there is no longer any need to fiddle with
screws and tools. DESKPOWER 2000 comes in a space-saving
micro-tower design.
Fujitsu DESKPOWER 5000 systems are optimized for the local-area-network
and fast deployment within the business environment, offering
integrated Ethernet through a built-in 10/100Mbps LAN card.
Integrated on this LAN card are graphics and sound support.
