Why is Fujitsu participating in the battery replacement program initiated by Sony for various notebook PC manufacturers (the “Replacement Program”)? |
| |
Fujitsu would like to reassure our valued-customers and clear up any doubts that they may have. Accordingly, Fujitsu has decided to voluntarily participate in the Replacement Program by having the Fujitsu Battery Exchange Program (the “Exchange Program”). |

Why is there an increase in the quantity and types of batteries that fall under the Exchange Program? |
| |
We received additional information from Sony after our initial announcement of the Exchange Program which resulted in the increase. |

| 3. |
Does the Exchange Program apply to all models of Fujitsu’s notebook PCs? |
| |
No. The Exchange Program only applies to the following models of Fujitsu’s notebook PCs that were shipped to the Asia Pacific region (excluding Japan and Korea): |

- LifeBook C1320 / C1320D / C1321 / C1321D
- LifeBook P1510/ P1510D
- LifeBook P7120/ P7120D
- LifeBook Q2010
- LifeBook S7020/ S7020D/ S7021/ S7021D/ S7025/ S7025D
- LifeBook T4210

If my notebook PC is an Eligible Model, do I have to change its battery? |
| |
Check the battery’s “Battery Part Number” and “Battery Lot Number” and compare both numbers against the list found here. If the “Battery Part Number” and “Battery Lot Number” are in the list (“Eligible Battery”), then the battery is eligible for replacement under the Exchange Program and should be replaced. If the numbers are not on the list, the Eligible Model does not contain an Eligible Battery and the battery does not need to be replaced.

How will I be able to replace my Eligible Battery? |

When will I be able to replace my Eligible Battery? |
| |
Actual lead time will depend on the availability of new stocks of the Sony battery required to replace your Eligible Battery (“Replacement Battery”). Please be advised that due to the large number of Sony batteries being replaced by various PC vendors in every region under the Replacement Program, your Replacement Battery may not be immediately available. In the meantime, when using your Eligible Model, please take note of the recommendation safety measures in FAQ 10. |

Can my Eligible Battery be replaced with another vendor's battery (that is, other than the Replacement Battery) under the Exchange Program ? |
| |
We regret that we are unable to accede to this request. Fujitsu also assumes no responsibility or obligation with respect to any damages as a consequence of using a battery of another vendor. |

Can I get my Eligible Battery or Eligible Model replaced ? |
| |
Eligible Batteries will be replaced under the Exchange Program. However, the Eligible Model does not fall under the Exchange Program and cannot be replaced under the Exchange Program. |

| 9. |
I am feeling uncomfortable with the temperature of my Eligible Model. Can Fujitsu check it ? |
| |
If you are concerned about the temperature of your Eligible Model, please contact the Service Centre nearest to you. |

| 10. |
Is it safe to continue using my Eligible Model if it has an Eligible Battery ? |
| |
If your Eligible Model has an Eligible Battery, please adopt the following safety measures until your Eligible Battery is replaced: |
| |
a. Whenever possible, use your Eligible Model without the Eligible Battery.
- Shut down your Eligible Model and disconnect the AC adapter before removing the Eligible Battery.
- Connect the AC adapter again to use your Eligible Model.
b. If you must use your Eligible Model with the Eligible Battery, please note the following:
- Do not use the AC adapter simultaneously with the Eligible Battery. Disconnect the AC adapter if using battery power.
- Use your Eligible Model under normal ambient temperatures.
- Do not place your Eligible Model on heat-retaining materials, such as a towel, carpet, or sofa, when using it.
- Never use your Eligible Model on electrically-heated carpets or other heating appliances.
c. When recharging your battery, never leave your Eligible Model unattended. You may resume normal use of your Eligible Model after your Eligible Battery has been replaced. |

How do I remove my Eligible Battery? |

Can I borrow any alternate notebook PC from Fujitsu until my Eligible Battery is replaced? |

We are unable to accede to this request. However, you may wish to take note of the recommended safety measures in FAQ10. |

Am I allowed to bring the Eligible Battery on board flights? |
| |
Please check with your respective airlines. |
| |

| 14. |
How do I know if the Replacement Battery has been shipped to me? |
| |
You can obtain the shipment details of your Replacement Battery by clicking here and keying in the reference number which was provided to you when you made the request for the Replacement Battery. |

| 15. |
What is the warranty period for the Replacement Battery? |
| |
In accordance with the terms and conditions of our warranty coverage for repaired and replaced parts, the warranty period of the Replacement Battery, which is a spare part of your Eligible Model, shall be the remaining warranty period of your Eligible Model. |

| 16. |
Can I keep my Eligible Battery after I have removed it from my Eligible Model and replaced it with the Replacement Battery? |
| |
Under the Exchange Program, you are required to return the Eligible Battery to Fujitsu. |

| 17. |
How do I return the Eligible Battery? |
| |
By using the packaging and self-addressed label envelope provided with the Replacement Battery. For more information, please refer to the flyer provided together with the Replacement Battery. |

| 18. |
Instead of submitting the request online for a Replacement Battery under the Exchange Program, can I go to one of Fujitsu’s service centres instead? |
| |
Fujitsu’s service centres will not be able to replace your Eligible Battery under the Exchange Program. The request has to be submitted online. |
